About Us

Introduction

As our world becomes globalized, the contexts in which children and adults acquire languages are increasingly diverse. We will discuss how languages are acquired in diverse contexts, i.e. language acquisition in monolingual, bilingual and multilingual contexts as first/second/heritage/minority languages in different settings. The symposium will bring together scholars and research students to present their recent work in the following areas:

First language acquisition
Second language acquisition
Bilingual language acquisition
Multilingual language acquisition
Heritage language acquisition
Minority language acquisition
Typical and atypical language acquisition
The presentations are open to the research community and the public. We cordially invite anyone interested to attend and participate in the discussion of current theoretical and empirical issues in language acquisition in diverse contexts, develop collaboration and have academic exchange.
