Tang Ping is an Associate Professor at the School of Foreign Studies, Nanjing University of Science and Technology. He received his PhD in Linguistics from Macquarie University. His research focuses on prosody, intonation, Mandarin tone acquisition, child language development, and speech perception and production, particularly among Mandarin-speaking children and children with cochlear implants. His recent work examines contrastive focus, irony comprehension, prosodic boundaries, and the role of auditory and visual cues in speech communication. he has published widely in international journals and collaborates with researchers across linguistics, phonetics, psycholinguistics, and speech science.
