Cancellation of the In-person Session

Due to the recent worsening of the pandemic situation in Hong Kong, the Executive Committee of IACL decided that the whole Conference of IACL-28 will now take place in a completely online manner  - one online session instead of two separate sessions (one online and the other in-person), as announced to IACL members last year. All presentations will be delivered online from May 20 to May 22, 2022.

 

 

Second Call for Papers

In view of the uncertainties in the development of the pandemic situation and the fact that tight restrictions are still imposed on international travels, the Executive Committee of IACL, after serious consideration, decided that the 28th Annual Conference of the International Association of Chinese Linguistics (IACL-28) will be postponed to May 20-22, 2022 and held in Hong Kong in a face-to-face mode, as the Annual Conference serves as an important occasion for scholars and researchers working on Chinese linguistics across the globe to discuss and exchange ideas. The dates of deadline for abstract submission and notification of acceptance are adjusted accordingly, as follows:

Call for papers
We cordially invite abstracts for oral presentations of original, unpublished research work in all subfields of linguistics on any variety of the Chinese languages or other languages of China. Submission of papers on the main theme is especially encouraged.

To promote linguistics research on Chinese and other languages of China, IACL is pleased to invite young scholars to take part in the following three award competitions: (i) The Young Scholar Awards (YSA), (ii) The Mantaro J. Hashimoto Award for Chinese Historical Phonology (MJH), and (iii) The Interdisciplinary Research Award (IRA).
